Heuer Regatta Yacht Race Sailboat Timer

This is a HEUER REGATTA WATCH YACHT RACE TIMER.

 This is a Automatic (self winding) Yacht Racing Timer as well as a watch. This watch has 5 small round discs (windows) above the HEUER shield logo. These window when not in use are the same color as the dial (black) until the starter countdown pusher is pressed/pushed. This pusher is located next to the crown. The following is a short version of how it operates: 1. At the sound of the of the first gun (warning shot for yacht races that the race will start in 10 minutes) the pusher is pressed. The 5 discs (windows) turn blue. One disc (window) equals one minute. As each minute passes, the blue disc (window) began to gradually turn red. The orange second hand is perfectly synchronized with the minute discs. When all 5 disc (windows) have turned red 5 minutes has lapsed. 2. At the second cannon shot, time having elapsed equals 5 minutes, with 5 minutes to go. The second 5 minutes the discs (windows) turn from red to black with each passing minute. 3. When all the discs (windows) have turned from red to black the yacht race starts. The Regatta was invented by AQUASTAR OF GENEVE in the 1960's with the final concept perfected by 1973. Go to the AQUASTAR website (http://www.aquastar.ch/history.html) . This is the HEUER Regatta (Ref. 134.505) . DESCRIPTION: This watch/timer is almost new old stock. It has never been worn or used except the time I used it on our Fall Yacht races in Oktoberfest. It has remained on the watchwinder since. BEZEL: The bezel is small stainless steel with screws attaching it to the case. The bezel is highly polished .  DIAL: The dial is black in color with white second calibrations around the dial. The dial is signed with a white HEUER logo shield. It is also signed with a white "REGATTA", "AUTOMATIC", "100 METRES", and "T SWISS MADE T". There are raised silver indices at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock markers. Dial has five round disc (windows) for timing the start of yacht races. The dial is mint new condition. HANDS: The hour and minute hands are white outlined with luminous filled center. The continuous second hand is orange. All the hands are perfect new condition. BRACELET: The bracelet is completely stainless steel with small gold screws in every other link. The flip lock clasp still has the white protective paper on it. The clasp is signed with the famous HEUER logo shield. Bracelet is in mint condition. CASE: The case is bright shiny stainless steel. The case back is the screw on and off. It is engraved with the famous HEUER logo shield which states, "HEUER SWISS SINCE 186O". Also engraved is "WATER-RESISTANT 100 METERS TESTED SHOCK RESISTANT ALL STAINLESS STEEL SWISS MADE". The model reference number is also engraved on the case back, "134.601".  MOVEMENT: The movement is a automatic (self winding) by Lemania and signed HEUER. . CRYSTAL: The crystal is plastic and the domed style.  CROWN: The crown is the screw out to set the time and screw in to make watertight. It is signed with the HEUER logo shield. It is stainless steel .
